Conversation with Space (La Défense) (2010)
Conversation With Space (La Défense) #1 and #2 is two photographs from La Défense, a region of high-rise buildings in Paris. This district, on which work began in the late 1950s, was projected as a centre of commercial activity. However, there was no master plan for the development, which today seems alienating yet at the same time playful and diverse. The photographs reveals problems relating to the structuring and use of urban space. How does the modernist architecture affect the way the city is used? How do those who move around the city enter into dialogue with it by means of their bodies and gaze?
